2014 Titanium Ford Fiesta

It was a sunny Veteran’s Day morning when John dropped off the Ruby Red 2014 Titanium Ford Fiesta, a perfect day to test drive a Ford and give away pizza to Veterans in Dallas, Grapevine, and Bedford. Our mission this day was two fold: to check out how well the 2014 Titanium Ford Fiesta would work for pizza delivery and to deliver pizza to hungry veterans as a small token of our appreciation for their fighting to help keep America free.

Our first delivery of the day was from i Fratelli Pizza in Uptown to the Love Field American Legion Post

Here is one basic fact you should be aware of, this 2014 Titanium Ford Fiesta turns heads. Sitting in front of the uptown i Fratelli store in Dallas, I noticed some people turning their heads to stare at our Titanium Fiesta (man, I love the way the word “Titanium” rolls off my tongue). I caught one guy, Tommy, right in the middle of his admiration. He actually walked by the car twice, staring so hard I thought the windows might break.

Other than turning heads, the vehicle makes you not lose yours when you’re in need to find a place of interest or a local address. The navigation system is full of info for the driver and helped us easily find the i Fratelli store when I mistakenly continued down Mockingbird Lane when I should’ve turned right on Lemmon Ave. The system comes with sports info (Manning is playing after hurting his leg), movie info (nothing good at the AMC this week) and I lament there wasn’t enough time in our test drive period to digest all the system could do for us.

Having to squeeze through tight places in downtown Dallas with many road closures near parade time was simple to do in a car the size of the Fiesta (the original location of our first delivery). The Fiesta is labeled as a sub-compact car but doesn’t drive like one. The engine accelerates quick (enough for me) which is helpful to get around those slow pokes that stand (almost still) between a customer and a fresh hot pizza. The Titanium Ford Fiesta comes equipped with a 1.6 litre 120-horsepower engine.

The one thing pizza delivery drivers will love most, in addition to how it handles and how many pizzas can fit in the vehicle (at least 72 large i Fratelli pizzas will fit) is the gas mileage. The car is rated at 29 mpg in the city, 39 mpg on the highway with a combined 32 mpg. No longer, if you have a large delivery area to cover will you drive five miles one way drop off a pizza to a cheapskate and not even make enough to cover your gas costs. Those days are over with the Ford Fiesta.

Our final delivery of the day was to the Bedford American Legion Post with a pizza donation from Marco's Pizza.

– auto halogen headlamps
– easy fuel capless filler
– power heated exterior mirrors
– ambient lighting (LOVE IT)
– heated seats (to help keep pies warm if you leave the store without a carrier)
– audio controls on the steering wheel
– push button start
– rear view camera

My favorite interior feature is the ambient lighting. I only wish the colors could automatically change while listening to disco or trance.

The MSRP was only $21,280 on our test model which included the 6 speed auto transmission, navigation system and Ruby Red clear coat (all three are optional).

On day two of our test drive, we headed over to Lushaj’s Pizza in Euless to do an additional pizza delivery before the car had to be picked up by Ford. Steve, the pizzeria owner parked next to the Ford Titanium and I watched from inside as he checked out the car, if I judged that look correctly, I think that was lust. He walked in and said. “I Loooooove that car!! Who’s the owner? How much does it cost?” All that in his booming New York accent…..He may be at the Ford dealer right now.
