DISCLAIMER: The best food for cats is always good quality cat food, but sometimes, cats simply love the taste of pepperoni, Canadian bacon or hamburger. Remember, cats can sometimes become lactose intolerant as they age, too much cheese is not a good thing.
As of February 21, 2014, these cats and kittens are available for adoption.
When asked what pizza they like best, most of them mewed, “We love Iams cat food the best, it’s much healthier for us. But when it comes to pizza “iFratelli is the best.” A couple said they prefer Grimaldi’s and one said “Lushaj’s in Euless.” Not all cats are the same, everyone knows that.
A big thanks goes out to the staff at Dog & Kitty City for their help in making this list and for all the hard work they do. Our staff at PizzaSpotz has sporadically volunteered as cat socializers over the past few years and I highly recommend the shelter as a place to do good with as many volunteer hours as you can donate.
About Dog & Kitty City
Dog & Kitty City is operated by the Humane Society of Dallas County. Their purpose is to provide a safe and healthy environment for the indigent, abused and neglected animals of Dallas. The shelter provides a service in educating the Dallas community on responsible pet ownership. Dog & Kitty City has operated for over 30 years as a no kill animal shelter. They are a 501.c3 non profit organization and do not receive any tax support. They rely solely on private donations. Their service to the animals depends completely on the generosity of the community and on committed, dedicated volunteers.
Dog & Kitty City subscribes to a true no-kill philosophy– none are “too ugly to adopt.” They do not screen requests, except to provide better information about rehoming– e.g., old animals do not do well in shelters and owners should do everything in their power to find alternate accommodations. We only refuse on the basis of no room. We accept the responsibility of spay/neuter, shots, behavioral adjustment. It is one of the reasons we ask for a surrender fee — to help absorb the cost.
The Doggy & Kitty City Mission
* Rescuing and ministering to the indigent animal population
* Providing shelter, love and medical care for all of our animals until they find a loving home
* Promoting responsible pet ownership
* Providing on-going adoption support services to ensure a lifetime commitment from pet owners
* Eliminating animal cruelty through education
* Helping to reduce animal over-population by providing services such as low-cost spay-neuter
* Fostering a respect for all life
